Kings and Cobras

who are we?

Kings and Cobras are a modern hard rock band from Victoria, BC. Their music utilizes tasteful elements of progressive rock, carefully sprinkled throughout crushing drum parts, dirty riffs, soaring leads and visceral vocals. They manage to keep a natural feel to their music while having meticulously constructed and complex passages. You'll find yourself hearing lots of inspiration from modern progressive metal bands along with a mix of more "straight to the point" rock. You'll be, in equal parts, intrigued by the intricacies and moved by the grooves. Kings and Cobras is a must-see act for those craving both power and precision.

Meet the band

Vocals

Justin Lavoie

Justin's powerful voice carries far and wide, on stage and off. He does not need a microphone to wake the neighbourhood. Relentlessly sociable, Justin is always willing to have a chat over a beer, so flag him down at a show and get to know him!

Drums

cade king-wilcox

The veritable backbone of the group and the antithesis of the brash drummer, Cade is the glue that holds us together both musically and socially. Cade is a great guy to have in your corner, but you'd be wise to avoid crossing his path in Rocket League.

Guitar

CHris crowther

As well as massive solos, Chris also brings backing vocals and auxiliary percussion to the band. With a mind for composition, Chris is the one you'll find launching into reverb-drenched ambient guitar movements - maybe for too long.

Guitar

Stuart petillion

Stuart's knowledge of mixing and sound design is invaluable to the band, and this passion extends to his complex on-stage guitar sounds. Armed with a diploma in production from Selkirk College, Stu is also our man for all things recording.

Bass Guitar

brett laporte

Providing the thunderous foundation for the K&C sound is Brett, who is as rare as he is rock-steady. Brett is responsible for most of our social media presence. If you're interacting with us online, you're most likely talking to Brett, so make sure to say hi!
